Hair Extension Color Match
This hair extension color match tool lets you tap a photo of your hair and see which of 17 shades is closest, and your photo never leaves the browser.
How to Match Hair Extensions to Your Hair Colour Online
The Hair Extension Color Match tool works entirely in your browser. Take or choose a photo shot near a window in daylight, tap a spot on your hair, and the tool ranks all 17 shades by colour difference. It flags the shades we stock and names the nearest stocked shade when the top-ranked code is one we do not carry. No image is uploaded or stored, and there is no quiz to fill out.
A photo taken under natural lighting gives a truer read of your shade than comparing against a product picture on a screen. Tapping your actual hair against a consistent set of colour codes is a reliable way to colour match hair extensions before you order.
What Colour Is 1B Hair?
1B is Natural Black, a soft black with brown undertones that sits lighter than the cooler-toned Jet Black (1). The colour codes in our FAQ explain the full system, but the short version is that the numbering runs from dark to light. Code 4 is Chocolate Brown (Medium Brown on many product titles), 30 is Toffee (sold as Auburn), 99J is Burgundy, 350 is Copper, 27 is Honey Blonde, and 613 is Buttercup Blonde (sold as Blonde). A colour shade chart shows each of these codes next to a swatch for direct comparison.
What Colour Hair Extensions Should I Get?
A stylist holds a colour ring against the mid-lengths of your hair, and this tool reads best the same way. Tap your mid-lengths, not the root, and work through ombre or balayage pieces colour by colour.
Can I Dye Extensions to Match My Hair?
Hair in 1B sits at its natural shade and takes colour readily, so 1B is the code to start from when you want to dye your extensions. Every other shade already carries colour, and results vary when you layer dye over existing dye. Use deposit-only formulas (semipermanent, demipermanent, or temporary) on remy or virgin hair, as long as no metallic dye has ever been applied to it.
Which Shades Do You Stock?
The ranked list below the match result tags every shade as in stock or not stocked, so you can scan all 17 before choosing.
Once you have your shade, shop it in sew-in bundles, wefts, clip-ins, or a wig. A closure covers the parting area and a lace frontal spans the whole hairline, so add whichever your build calls for. The bundle calculator tells you how many bundles your install length needs, and the Hair Length Calculator lets you see how each length looks before you order.
