The Finest Grade of Lace There Is
HD is the thinnest, sheerest mesh a frontal comes in, spun from filaments a fraction of the thickness a standard or clear base uses. Press it to a deep 1B scalp and the border thins right out to skin, none of the faint grey film a heavier weave can leave sitting on top of black hair.

A 13-Inch Front Edge the Curl Hides for You
Ear to ear, that's a full 13 inches of border to keep from reading as a line, way more front than any little closure has to answer for. The spirals do the covering: they fan and pile across that whole span, so where the mesh stops and your hair starts never resolves into an edge. Curly frontals pull this off where a smooth texture would show the seam.

Four Inches of Comb Room Up Front
Nothing's stitched in to fix the part, and 4 inches of lace depth hands the comb real space across the whole panel up top. Set it center this morning, sweep it to a sharp side later, and each one drops flat with no ghost of the last division still showing.

Density Built Into the Front Section
On this base the front edge is the entire job, and jerry curl packs that zone with body. The ringlets stand off the base and lap over one another right up at the panel, so the hairline reads thick from the first row without a spare bundle hiding behind it to fake the fullness.

Press the Front, Match the Back
Whatever's sewn behind the lace sets the target, and you'll want the front to read the same weight. This is a virgin cortex, the strand's inner core, with no chemical ever cracking it open, so it takes a blow-dryer or a rod like your own hair and drops back to its spiral the next time it's wet.

Reaches Your Temples for a Pull-Back
Because the lace runs the whole hairline a closure would leave bare at the sides, you can rake the curls into a high pony or slick them off the face and still keep a clean front. That coverage carries out past the temples and well beyond the middle strip.

Made to Braid-and-Sew Straight In
This caps the front section your cornrow tracks have to steer clear of, so you finish with a laid hairline and your own edges tucked down safe underneath. Drop it into a sew-in, a wig unit, or a protective set.

Room to Go Honey Blonde
Nobody's stripped or added pigment yet, so a colorist can walk this 1B up the lift stages and land an even honey blonde, skipping the blotchy grab a strand that's already been dyed gives back.

Why the HD Grade Changes the Front on a 1B Scalp

Every frontal has one tell, and it's the border. On a deep natural black, a thicker weave of lace can sit up on the surface and read as a faint pale wash right where you least want it, along the hairline. HD is the answer to that. The filaments are spun so fine that when you press the base to the scalp, the grid stops registering as fabric and starts reading as skin, so the front of a 13x4 dissolves down to your 1B instead of hovering over it. That's what you're paying the HD premium for on dark hair: the one grade sheer enough to keep a full ear-to-ear border invisible.

Matching the Body Behind Your 13x4

This finishes only the front 13-by-4 panel, and not one inch more. Everything sitting behind it is your own wefts or the unit you're building around it, so the install stands or falls on how cleanly the front hands off to the body. Feed the same jerry curl texture through the tracks behind the lace and the ringlets pick up exactly where the panel closes, so the whole crown reads as one run of spirals with no seam of a different texture parked on top. The strands are virgin, offered in a 16 or an 18, and curly hair wears shorter than it measures once the coil draws up, so reach for 18 if you want the length to survive that draw. The fine HD grid is what earns its place here: on a full 13x4 border it thins to a 1B scalp where the transparent grade would hover as a faint film, so the whole ear-to-ear edge dissolves. And since the 1B pigment has never been touched, the whole head can move up to honey blonde together and stay one shade front to back.
