Loose wave is closer to straight hair that happens to bend than to a deliberate wave. The curves are wide, slow, and barely there.
Where Loose Wave Sits on the Texture Spectrum
If you line up all the wavy textures from least to most defined, it goes: loose wave, body wave, deep wave, Spanish wave. One full S-curve can span four to five inches, so the amplitude is shallow. In still photos, loose wave can pass for straight hair. In motion, the wave shows up.
A Single Loose Wave Bundle
Use it to soften the blunt ends of a straight sew-in, add gentle movement to a ponytail, or fill in a thinning area where straight hair would lie too flat but body wave would be too much.
